“Morning,” I smiled back, gently untangling myself from his arms and sitting up next to him.

“I know you’re groggy,” he chuckled, “I kept you up so late last night…”

A blush formed on my cheeks. “Don’t worry. I was a pretty willing participant.”

“Yeah, the noises you were making pretty much made it clear from the start,” he laughed.

Ever since we had moved in together in a small apartment near our campus, our sex life had gotten even better. Bryan and I knew each other’s bodies well, and they fit together perfectly like two pieces of a puzzle.

“What can I say?” I blushed. “You’re skilled at what you do.”

“And you deserve to be spoiled,” he dropped one final kiss at the top of my head and got out of bed. When I shot him a look of protest, he smiled back at me.

“I’m going to make you some breakfast. You should take a shower and join me in the kitchen.”

After finishing my shower, I walked into the kitchen. My tousled hair and his mischievous grin were our morning routine. He was flipping pancakes, and as I watched him, I couldn’t help but think how cute he looked.

“So focused, babe,” I said, sliding over next to him. “You look like you’re a professional chef.”

“Maybe if I wasn’t an athlete, who knows?” he laughed.

Bryan’s first year at college had been a great success for him. He was already emerging as one of the best players in the entire college county. All his days of hard work and practice were definitely paying off.

“I think you would have been an athlete in every single lifetime,” I laughed. “It’s in your blood. You’re built for this.”

“And you have always been my biggest cheerleader,” he smiled. “You know, Dad is coming over this weekend to hang out with us. I told him that I cannot wait to host him.”

My face lit up with the brightest smile. Over the last year, Bryan has really improved his relationship with his dad. It brought me the utmost joy to see him finally resolving the trauma that he had with his father and getting over the abandonment issues that he developed as a result.

Their relationship was very wholesome, and I could see that his father put in great effort to let Bryan know he cared for him. Even I had developed a friendly relationship with him, and he treated me just as he would his own daughter.

“I cannot wait to see him,” I informed him as he put a pancake on my plate. “It’s really been a few weeks. I’m sure he must miss you.”

“We talk on the phone every few days,” Bryan laughed. “I was thinking we could go visit your grandparents the next weekend, as well.”

I felt a warm feeling spread inside me at his words. He never wanted me to miss out when it came to my family, and I felt truly grateful to him.

“Then it is settled.”

We sat at the table as we ate breakfast together. Bryan still looked at me as if I was the only one that mattered, and it gave me so much hope that our love had only grown in the last year instead of diminishing.

When we first moved in together, I had a fear that our honeymoon phase would soon fade away, and we would not feel as much in love with each other anymore. But the more time that passed, the more in love we fell with each other.

“You’ve barely touched your pancakes,” Bryan nudged me gently. “What’s on that pretty little mind of yours?”

“Nothing,” I couldn’t hold back my smile. “Just thinking how much I love this one guy in my life,”

“Oh, a guy?” Bryan baited me, acting oblivious. “Do I know his name?”

I scooted over closer to him, giving him a small kiss on the nose. “His name is Bryan. He’s from around here. Big athlete in the making. Really hot. I’m sure that you must have heard of him.”

He chuckled loudly, shaking his head. “Of course, that guy. I might have heard that he’s in love with someone named Romai,” he shot back my own tricks at me.

I bit down on my lip, “Is he now? She must be really lucky to have him in her life.”

“Mmhmm, I would say that he’s the lucky one there.”

“Lucky us.”

We finally brought our lips together and kissed gently. Moments like this made life feel worth living, just me and the person that I loved the most in the entire world.

Life had really worked out amazingly for me.
