“Anything for you, Persephone mou.” He pulled her closer. “Without Zeus around, Olympus is now at least tolerable.”
Although Zeus had been persuasive during the trial, he had not swayed the other gods in his favor. The Council voted him out of the throne, as well as sent him to prison by himself in the recesses of Tartarus for one hundred millennia for his crimes. For now, the throne of Olympus was empty, but Hades didn’t really care what happened to it.
“I really should go,” she said with a sigh. “We’re gearing up for our busiest season yet.”
“Surely you can be a little late?” He waggled his eyebrows at her meaningfully. “One hour late?”
She chuckled. “One hour? I don’t think that’s possible with you. You’ll ask for one hour, then another hour, then another…”
“I know. I’m very convincing.”
Smirking at him, she grabbed his hands and threaded her fingers through his. “I guess Geri can do the inventory by herself today. C’mon, my king. Take me away.”
