With his hand behind his head, Lei Zhen leaned close to the carriage and smirked.

‘Everything is going according to plan.’ He thought. When dealing with a merchant, he was the most familiar with what kind of tactic to use against them.

After all, he had learned how to manage a business in the past from his foster father. And despite knowing he was not his real son, he still taught him a lot.

Hence, Lei Zhen was always grateful to him and would do his best to take care of Lei Qingxuan now that they are gone.

Sometime later, the carriage had finally left the Town of Wales and instantly, Gizzle and Mizzle began picking up their speed.

From one kilometer per hour to ten kilometers per hour, the speed continued to increase gradually until Chris pulled back the harness to set their pace at a constant speed.

Going fast might be beneficial in certain circumstances, but normally, one would keep it at a pace that is not too fast or too slow. That way, they can easily make an emergency spot if there’s an external factor such as a monster appearing or a roadblock.

After leaving the town for ten minutes or so, the path ahead was divided into two. On the right path, it indicates route 32 and on the left path, it indicates route 43.

With his hand on the harness, he tilted slightly to the right. This control of Chris made Gizzle and Mizzle head toward the left path to take route 43.

Safety was the number one priority and he would not be blinded by greed to take the riskier path.

What is money if one cannot spend it in life?

“With this route, we’ll reach Yors Castle in about 10-15 days.” Chris turned around and told Lei Zhen.

“During these days, you better make sure my merchandise is safe and sound.”

“Then does that mean I can neglect your safety?”

“WHAT? I’m your contractor, so who’s going to pay you if I meet any harm?”

“Well, your two mounts are worth a lot, so they can certainly pay me on behalf of you.” Lei Zhen shrugged his shoulders.

“Tch, talking to you is a waste of time.” Chris clicked his tongue and ignored him.

Their bickering was merely a passing time for the two of them since the journey is long and boring. And of course, Lei Zhen knew better than to try to scheme against Chris.

Christ might have seemed like an ordinary greedy merchant on the surface, but Lei Zhen knew that he must be hiding his strength.

Only a fool would wantonly believe Chris to be a weakling and easy prey to hunt.

pαndα,noνɐ1,сoМ ‘Just the two mounts alone, their combat power is significantly higher than a team consisting of five players.’ Lei Zhen was no longer an ignorant player that didn’t know anything about Magnolia.

For common sense and measuring combat power, he had improved with the guidance of Tang Qiaolian.

And while Lei Zhen and Chris continued to bicker from time to time as they traveled along the path of route 43, on the opposite end of route 43, another scenario was happening.

“Princess Kate, you should hurry up and leave first.” A bloodied armor soldier shouted as he raised his sword to deflect a monster’s attack.

It wasn’t just this soldier alone that was bleeding and struggling. There was another batch of soldiers that were having difficulty in fending off the monster’s wave.

The person they were protecting was naturally Kate Norton, princess of Yors Castle, who was sent to search for the missing Ferold’s Ring.

“Impossible, how can I leave my soldiers to fend off the monsters while I escape alone?” Kate Norton yelled in response and used her sword to decapitate a monster’s head.

Alas, that was just one monster out of the numerous monsters that were surrounding them.

“Curses, just who would dare to plot against the Royal Family of Norton.” Kate Norton clicked her tongue. Her expedition date was not known to others, yet there were already a lot of ambushes the moment she had left Yors Castle.

It was clear as day that someone was plotting behind the scene and did not wish for her to succeed in retrieving the Ferold’s Ring.

“Jejeje, Princess Kate of Yors Castle. How could someone of your status be out in the wild when you should be at the royal castle?”

Right when Kate Norton was struggling to figure out who was behind the incident, she heard a notorious laugh from afar.

Glancing left and right, she began to search for the source and when she finally found it, her facial expression changed.

“A black mage?” She said dreadfully.

Black mages are different from normal mages who use their ability for the greater good.

The black mages are those who studied forbidden magic and committed a ton of nefarious crimes for their research such as kidnapping humans and dissecting them.

And each black mage has its own sort of escape method when they are at a disadvantage, so they are extremely hard to capture and deal with.

“Why do you look so surprised, Princess Kate?” The black mage laughed sinisterly, waving his hand to control the monster wave to create a path for him to walk.

“A lot of people spent a hefty amount of money to request me to capture you alive or kill you.”

“A lot of people huh?” Kate Norton was not a bit surprised to hear that many people wanted her dead.

“Are they the nobles from our Yors Castle?” She asked coldly. Corruptions were not unknown in the Yors Castle, and she had long suspected that a lot of nobles had colluded with each other.

However, she could never obtain enough evidence to convict them.

“Normally, I wouldn’t mind exposing my victims to the person that hired me, but you’re different from others. You are a tricky person, so I can’t risk my credibility. After all, they are my greatest sponsor for my wonderful creation.” The black mage chuckled, unwilling to reveal an ounce of hint to her.
