“Not bad, but you’re a thousand times better,” I said, flashing him with a wicked grin.

“You are a smart man,” Weston said as he took a sip.

Mitchell got up.

“All right, well, it’s karaoke night, so I’m not sitting around here while you two get all cute and handsy and Dawson’s off fucking shit up. I’m singing.”

I nodded in response.

“We’ll be up there sooner or later,” Weston said confidently.

“Oh, we will?” I asked, raising an eyebrow, challenging him.

“Absolutely. But I believe it’s my turn to pick the song,” he said as he pulled me between his legs, wrapping his arms around me.

The scent of scotch on his breath mixed with his cologne was heady and made me breathless.

“Fine. But you’re going to owe me later,” I said, kissing him back.

“A very smart man once told me I make up very well.”

His hands slid up and down my back, his gaze holding me in place. It was like the rest of the world fell away, like there was only us.

And I knew it would always be like that.

“I’ll hold you to that,” I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck, and kissed him like they do in the movies, our lips, tongues, and hearts singing happily ever after in the story of our own making.
