“What was that all about?” I ask once we’re safely inside.

February pushes through the door, her eyes trained on Anya. “What happened? Are you okay?”

Anya scrubs her face and looks in the mirror. “For some reason, I can’t act normal around him. It’s been like this since we were kids. I don’t know how to just be normal.” She turns to face us. “Something’s wrong with me.”

Feb and I exchange a look.

“There’s nothing wrong with you. You just have a crush,” I say, stepping closer to push her long brown hair off her shoulders.

“She’s right,” February says with a smile. “You’ve got a crush. How does he feel? Have you ever told him?”

Anya looks mortified. “Are you kidding? I’d rather die than tell Griffin Cole I’ve got feelings for him. I thought when I left for college, the feelings would go away. And I have to say that while I was gone, I never thought about him that much. But since I’ve been home, he’s all I can think about. I don’t know what to do. And now Callum says he’s giving me one shot to turn the back room into a party room, which means I’ll be working with Griffin creating menus and running the parties. So I’m sort of freaking out.”

I pull Anya into a hug. “You want this more than anything, right?”

Anya leans back to look into my eyes. “Want what? The job? Or Griffin?”

Feb steps closer. “Oh dear, this is more serious than we thought.”

Anya shakes her head. “I want the job. Yes, the job. More than anything. And I won’t let my feelings for Griffin get in the way. Besides, he doesn’t feel the same.”

“How do you know that?” I ask.

“He told me.”

After a few more minutes, we leave the bathroom, and when we walk back out, Griffin is gone.

“What was that about?” Paxton asks, stepping over and wrapping his arms around me.

“Girl stuff.”

He raises a brow. “Girl stuff, huh?”

I nod, not willing to give up Anya’s secret. It’s not my secret to tell. “Yes. I bought something online.”

He smiles. “You’ve got my attention.”

“Maybe you want to come home with me and we can use it together.”

“What is it?” he asks.

I smile. “It’s a remote-control dildo that I’ll let you use on me.”

Paxton tugs me tighter. “You’re turning me on, Hartford.”

I giggle against him. “I love turning you on.”

“Well, you do. All the time. If I’m not with you, I’m thinking about you. If we’re not having sex, I’m thinking about sex with you. You’re literally on my mind twenty-four seven.”

I kiss his cheek. “And you’re on mine even more than that.”

“Let’s go back to your place. I’ll tell everyone goodbye.” He turns from me and shouts out, “Bye, everyone.”

I shake my head, placing my hand on his chest. “You can’t do it like that. We need to say goodbye to everyone properly.”

Paxton looks like he wants to throw me over his shoulder and haul me out of the coffee shop. “Fine,” he says. “Bye, everyone. We had a lovely time, but now we need to go. Hartford got a package in the mail.” He smirks. “And now I’ve got to give her a package of my own.”

Everyone laughs, and I slap his shoulder playfully. “Paxton,” I say with heated cheeks.

Brock and Tripp start in with their own dirty jokes as Paxton leads me out of the coffee shop at record speed.

I love this man.

And I know he loves me too.
