“Seriously, dude. Is there anything you can’t do?” Nick punched Quinn in the shoulder.

Quinn shrugged. “ADHD hyperfixation is my superpower. This is what happens when I have access to the internet, no self-regulation skills, and a metric ton of impending deadlines.”

“Can you hyperfixate on learning to count cards so we can do their bachelor party at the casino and fund the wedding?” Zane asked.

Quinn chuckled as the rest of us laughed. “I’ll see what I can do.”

Hayden slipped one of the chains over his head, and I did the same.

“These remind me of something,” he whispered in my ear after everyone had congratulated us and were checking out their menus.

“What’s that?”

“Handcuff chains.”

“I may or may not have designed them to look exactly like that.”

His eyes darkened. “Come home right after work. I’ve got a surprise for you.”

“Yeah?” I picked up my menu, not at all interested in food.

“Oh yeah.” Hayden did the same and shot me a heated look.

Loud laughter drew my thoughts away from Hayden and the fantasies that were spinning through my mind.

He winked and turned his attention to the table.

I did the same, focusing on our friends, so damn grateful we got to share not only this moment with them but every moment for the rest of our lives.
