“You going to go after her?” Eagle asks, and I shake my head.

“Nah, I value my life and balls. Doc will keep me informed, but I think the baby should be fine. Plus, I need to call Ken because I have a feeling I’m a dead man.”

The brothers laugh as I shake my head, smiling. My woman may be mad right now, but everything is falling into place. The only thing I need to do now is to wife her up.

Quinn – One Week Later

I grin as Noah blows bubbles into Bella’s face. Bella is our brown springer puppy Alex came home with three days ago.

I’ve got to tell you, this whole groveling thing is amazing.

Right now, we’re about four hours from home, near the beach, at a cute hut, having a little vacation. Alex waited for us to leave until we helped Kennedy settle back in after he flew to New York and then drove back with her, getting an ear full for his actions, then praised for keeping me safe. Next week, we’re going on the club fun run with Tech, who has somehow managed to convince Brook to come too. Doc gave me the okay to ride bitch, but we have to stop several times, otherwise, both our baby and I will be put in danger. Noah will be with Ken for the first week, and the second, he’ll be with Shelly for about three days, then with my dad for the last two before we’re back.

I haven’t sat down with Momma since that last meeting, but I have been texting her. That’s mainly for my dad and brother, so baby steps. There’s a lot of hurt to get through, but with my loved ones’ help, I think I can forgive one day.

I grin when Bella jumps, trying to grab the bubbles in her mouth, making Noah giggle. Alex takes a seat next to me, and I place my head on his shoulder.

He kisses my head and rasps, “Are you still mad at me?”

I smile. “Truthfully? I never was. I already knew I was pregnant before I went into that room, Alex, I just wanted you to sweat as you deserved.” He pulls back and looks at me, raising a brow. I smile, shrugging. “I never went drinking with Lola, well, technically, I did, but it was a chocolate shake. My dad had already performed a wellness check on me, and Doc, well, he found the whole thing funny when he met me near the medical room, and I told him.” I lean forward and kiss him before whispering, “I’m not mad that I’m pregnant with your baby, I’m mad with how that baby was made. When I peed on the stick, my gut instinct was telling me to check my pills, and that’s when I noticed they were vitamins. What you did was not okay but you taking on vacation, getting that puppy, it helps soften the blow a little.”

He sighs, kisses me again, and whispers, “I can’t say I’m sorry, baby, because I’m not. I want you tethered to me always, and you’re now carrying my baby, a sibling for our boy, which makes things even better. We get to expand our family, and I can’t apologize for that, Goldie.”

I smile a little. “The next time you want a baby, please inform me first?”

He chuckles a little. “I can’t promise that, baby.”

I go to scold him, ignoring the flutters I feel with his words, but he kisses me, making me melt.

Noah shouts,”Momma,”and we break apart. I see him looking down at something in the sand as Bella rolls around nearby, so I quickly kiss Alex’s lips, then get up and head his way, my maxi dress swishing in the light breeze.

When I get near, I ask, “What did you find, baby?” He points to something shiny in the sand.

I furrow my brows, bend to pick it up, and say, “Huh, it looks like someone lost their ring…. It’s absolutely beautiful, though.”

And it is. The purple sapphire stands out with little white diamonds around the band.

“It was my momma’s ring, the one my dad gave her.”

I turn to Alex’s voice only to gasp, my eyes shining with unshed tears at him kneeling on one knee. Noah is mimicking his dad, with Bella sitting next to him on her leash. I let out a sob at the paperwork in Noah’s hand, the word “adoption” highlighted the top of the page.

I put my hand over my mouth as Alex holds his hand out. I place the ring in his palm, before he holds my left hand and rasps, “We’ve been through a lot, you and I, haven’t we?” I sniffle but nod, and he continues, “When our boy set us up, it was the best day of my life. I became complete.” His eyes tear up. “You center me, make me whole, and a world without you is no world to live in, because I know I can’t live without you.” My tears fall. “I love you so much, Quinn. I need you tethered to me in every way possible—old lady, Noah, a baby, even marriage.

“You’re my everything, and I know we’ve had to deal with a lot, but we’ve overcome them together; we fought for each other. You will make me the happiest man alive if you complete us, baby. Marry me, Quinn, become my all.”

I let out a sob as Noah whispers, “And become my momma.”

I nod, causing Alex to grin. A tear runs down his cheek as he pushes the ring on my finger. Then he stands, kissing me hard and passionately as Noah wraps his arms around my legs, my hand going to his head.

When Alex breaks the kiss, I bend down to pick up Noah, but Alex beats me to it, making me laugh as they hand me the adoption papers, making me sob again and kiss Alex, who wraps his arm around my waist while Noah wraps his around my neck and cries, all while Bella barks, jumping at our feet.

This, right here, is something I was terrified to have but am grateful I’ve got it. I couldn’t be more thankful that Alex pushed as hard as he did to be with me, fought for us, helped me with my struggles, and made us a family.

He made me want to fight for him back, and I’ll forever be grateful to him for giving me his heart and keeping mine safe.
