Epilogue

“I think that should be it,” Jason said after we finished the shot.
“You don’t want to do it one more time?” I asked.
“No. You were perfect,” he said and smiled at me.
“You’re just saying that because you love me,” I teased.
“Yes, I do love you, but no, I would never compromise the shot, the show, or how it looks just to make you feel good, or to get you to sleep with me.”
“Was that what you were trying to do? Butter me up so I would sleep with you?”
“Do I need to?” he countered and I laughed as he pulled me into his arms.
It had been a little over a year since I had come to my senses and gone to Jason’s house to talk to him. Since then we had been working on getting our new show, Travel Hunt, off the ground. It was his idea to combine my need and love of traveling with the occasional scavenger hunt. With the help of Annie and Craig we had just finished our first episode and were set to do three more in Italy before moving on to Greece.
Jason was still the producer and just as amazing as he had been before. If it was possible he had gotten even better. We formed a shorthand with each other that made working together seamless and easy. That didn’t mean that we didn’t fight or have our moments when we both reconsidered working together, but it was part of who we were.
We would always fight, we would always have a reason to think the other was wrong, but we were finding ways to work through it. We were both seeing that the other sometimes was right and had the better idea. It didn’t mean we didn’t have a good lengthy and sometimes loud argument about it before we found the common ground, but we liked it. It worked for us.
Working with Jason only allowed me the chance to see more of what an amazing man he was and how lucky I was to not only be able to work with him but have him by my side. He had been the most amazing boyfriend while we had officially started dating and when he had proposed to me six months after we officially started dating, I had immediately said yes.
Mother had been over the moon and wanted to plan an elaborate wedding. Jason knew that I wouldn’t want anything over the top and had told her to just plan a big engagement party, making sure she invited all of our friends and family who we would want there. When they had shown up we had told them it wasn’t an engagement party but our wedding. Everyone had been thrilled to be part of the surprise and the intimate ceremony.
The trip to Italy was a bit of a honeymoon but it was also our way of telling the world we were together and starting off our new series. We had sold off Scavenge to another production company. They were going to continue Kevin’s legacy of showing the wonder that is the United States and were set to show their first season in a few months. They had agreed to keep all the employees on staff who wanted to stay and none had turned down the offer.
It cleared Jason and me up so that we could do our own thing. Our show was similar to Scavenge but different in that it was geared more towards adults and the traveling vagabonds that were out there. For the next year, we were going to live out of our suitcases and travel wherever the world took us, not worrying too much about what happened or where we went.
We had a general idea of where we were going to go but nothing was set in stone. All that Jason and I cared about was that we were there, together. I knew that this was the first of many adventures we would take and while I didn’t know what tomorrow would bring, all I knew and all I cared about was that Jason would be by my side for all of it.
